About lovisa prints

A photo of Amy reviewing a print

Welcome to my website and shop, through which I sell my prints.

My photographs focus on capturing emotions, colour and the gentle beauty of the world around us. I take my photographs on a Sony Nex 5 and a Sony A7 IV, and use physical mediums and older methods for playing with light and colour, such as coloured glass and other materials.

Each print is created on beautiful paper from Awagami Factory, and all frames are handmade by myself and my husband. The methods and materials used are chosen to ensure a long life for the print. Every print is signed and numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

I personally experience the world through colours and patterns. I hope for each picture to act as a translation of how I see my surroundings - the nuances and details that are waiting to be viewed in all objects and places.

Please enjoy looking through my online store. You can either order through here directly (shipping to EU countries), or contact me if you have any questions.

How I make my prints

Printing

I print the photograph on speciality paper by Awagami Factory, a beautiful paper made with bamboo fibers. This archival paper and high quality ink produces a beautiful quality print that will last.

Varnish

I varnish the print using a high quality varnish for art preservation, which gives the print a luster and protects it from UV damage.

Adhesion

I adhere the print to an acid-free backing board to ensure smoothness and a long life. This board is then attached to a sturdy wooden board, preventing any warping and giving the print a beautiful form.

Framing

I frame the mounted print with shellac treated wood, which protects the edges of the print and gives it a warm and modern look. I then paint the back of the print and attach the hanging mechanism.
