about the print

Signed and framed limited edition fine art print, size 40,5 x 60 cm (larger print), 20 x 29 cm (smaller print) or 9 x 12 cm (notebook).

◘ Limited edition series of 50 for each photograph

◘ This piece is printed using high quality ink on speciality washi paper from Awagami Factory. This paper is made in Tokushima, Japan, out of bamboo and recycled fibres, for producing high quality fine art prints. This paper is archival and acid-free, and brings a warm tone and unique texture to each print.

◘ The print is treated with UV resistant varnish, and all methods and materials used to mount the print are acid-free and chosen to ensure a long life for the print

◘ Every print is signed and numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity

◘ The larger print, 40,5 x 60 cm, comes mounted in a handmade frame. The frame is handmade by myself and my husband out of ethically sourced mahogany, each strip having been recovered and repurposed from an old boat deck. This unique wood provides a deep colour and a special charm. The frame is further treated with shellac to richen the colour and ensure its longevity.

◘ The smaller print, 20 x 29 cm, comes in a protective plastic pochette.

◘ The notebook print, 9 x 12 cm, comes mounted on a handmade notebook. The notebook is also made out of archival washi paper, perfect for writing and drawing on. The spine is bound using bamboo thread, and the book has 26 pages.

My photographs focus on capturing emotions, colour and the gentle beauty of the world around us. I take my photographs on a Sony Nex 5 and a Sony A7 IV, and use physical mediums and older methods for playing with light and colour, such as coloured glass and other materials.

care information

To ensure a long life of your print, follow these care conditions

◘ Display the print in a location where direct sunlight does not shine on it. The print has a UV protection varnish but strong sunlight can fade or damage a print.

◘ Display the print away from water and high humidity, as this can damage the paper surface

◘ Hang the print in a safe location with a strong anchor so that it does not fall

◘ Handle the print with care and do not scratch or rub the paper surface, as the fibers of the paper can be damaged by this

◘ For your notebook - handle the book with care and do not scratch or rub the paper surface. Keep the book in a cover or soft bag when not using it (e.g. if transporting it in your bag) to protect it. Some wear and tear will most likely occur since a notebook is to be used.

How I make my prints
A photo of a picture being printed
Printing

I print the photograph on speciality paper by Awagami Factory, a beautiful paper made with bamboo fibers. This archival paper and high quality ink produces a beautiful quality print that will last.

Varnish

I varnish the print using a high quality varnish for art preservation, which gives the print a luster and protects it from UV damage.

Adhesion

I adhere the print to an acid-free backing board to ensure smoothness and a long life. This board is then attached to a sturdy wooden board, preventing any warping and giving the print a beautiful form.

Framing

I frame the mounted print with shellac treated wood, which protects the edges of the print and gives it a warm and modern look. I then paint the back of the print and attach the hanging mechanism.
